The Kangaroostaurant is a cookery on wheels, committed to serving delicious freshly prepared local favorites to folks in and around Appleton, Wisconsin. The Kangaroostaurant is owned by Jay and Kelly Barnes. The entire Barnes Family is a part of this venture, including their children, Emma and Loudon. You will always find one of the Barnes Family on the truck.
Jay and Kelly grew up in the great state of Wisconsin. We found that too many of our state’s valuable agricultural resources were fading to the large production facilities. We are determined to do our part in bringing local goods to you.
We realize that our customers are not just customers but friends, neighbors and fellow dwellers in this great and abundant state. Kelly’s love of food is evident at first bite. Each offering is carefully prepared using the best possible ingredients. With the help of our farmers, growers and producers we are determined whenever possible to source from within our state first, then the Midwest. Our menus change frequently to make best use of local resources.
We will be out and about in and around Appleton. Weekdays, you will find us in business park areas, weekends; we will be at the Downtown Appleton Farm Market and other area events and festivals.
Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for menu and location updates!

Do you ever come down to oshkosh?
We have had several requests and have decided that it would be fun to make the trip some weekend. Any suggestions as to a good spot to park?
On Saturdays during the growing season, the Oshkosh Farmers Market on the 400-500 blocks of Main St. would be a good spot:

How do you select your sites to park and do you have to get permission?
Sandy ~ typically, someone from a business will contact us and we will work out details. Parking on the street is always (if parking is permitted) an option and for that we don’t need any special permission. If we are to park on private propery or in a lot, we do then need to have permission from the business/property owner. If you have any more specific questions, please give us a call – 920-277-8173. THANKS!
hey kel its jake
Would you guys like to be at one of our biggest events of the summer to seek food. Kolosso Toyota on August 14th 4 to 7. It is a huge kiss fm event where we give away a car. 500 plus people should be there.
This sounds interesting. Give me a call and we can talk about the details! Thanks Mary Love
How did you come up with the name?
Hi Rob. The name was a fluke, something we came up with after weeks of working on the name. The image in our logo is a version of a painting our daughter made in 7th grade art class. if you’d like to read more about it, here’s a link to a blog post from last year that explains a little about it. Thanks for asking!
